The Pub Hotel Subic Bay

The Pub hotel is slap bang in the middle of all the nightlife meaning on the main street where all the bars can be found. You won’t be next to the beach (where hotels are expensive due to the location) but it only takes about three minutes to get to the Blue Rock hotel or to the beach on a trike. Of course you can walk, takes about 10 – 15 minutes.
The hotel is very clean and bright, the personnel are very nice. Room prices are reasonable. The pub in the building has been shut down for some time now but if it does happen to re-open there will be noise on one side of the building on the first floor. The rooms aren’t quiet anyway, the through traffic on the main street causes a lot of noise but if this doesn’t worry you, then the Pub Hotel is a good recommendation.
The standard rooms (first row of pics) aren’t all that large but large enough. The better rooms higher up (second row of pics) are more spacious but some of them don’t have a window, normally an absolute no-go for me. However, they do have a large area with glass bricks making the room bright enough – I didn’t miss the window recently.
All rooms are air conditioned and have a fan, which revolves both clockwise and anticlockwise; they also have a coded safe. The beds are nice and comfortable and large; the fridge is more mini-bar size. The furniture is adequate and new, the bathroom large and fitted to serve its purpose. The reception is open 24 hours a day and during the evening and at night there is a security guard outside. The hotel can be booked through Agoda – bottom line, I’d stay there again.
