The Siam@Siam lies strategically good on the baht bus route in Pattaya, better said, down the Second Road on the corner of Soi 2 meaning it’s central. Large body massage parlour, beer bar centre and a huge “Big C” supermarket close by.
“Design hotel” – at first scares me off a bit because such hotels quite often have a bit too much colour, trash, odds and ends and things nobody needs, good for a couple or three days but no more. Not here though. The building is blue and (apart from due to its size) stands out in the Pattaya skyline – the rooms are also “designed” but not overdone.
I felt perfectly fine in my room. The furnishing isn’t cheap and leaves nothing to be desired. The bed is very comfortable and large enough for three, the air conditioning is quiet – the technology, such as dimmer and wifi, functions perfectly. The water pressure is fantastic, it’s fun to shower.
You never have to wait long for the lift – there are three of them. There are a number of pools, two are on the roof, very nice up there; the view is spectacular. The service is great, very friendly.
A moment of shock: after booking through Agoda I read in a forum that this hotel charges a 1000 THB lady fee (fee for girls accompanying for a night), this was confirmed per email. On arrival I told them that I had booked a double room for two and that I wasn’t prepared to pay any extra charges. The lady at the reception agreed straight away but told me to register all guests for my own safety. Now I am able to say that nobody was interested in who entered or left the hotel. Neither through the main entrance nor through the garage. There were no problems or restrictions with the various girls I took along with me, didn’t seem to be of any interest at all.
The bottom line: great hotel where I felt very comfortable – well located – I’d book again anytime.
